The Bronco Band Boosters are parents, grandparents and friends who are dedicated to providing fundraising, logistical and moral support to the Director of Bands and all members of the Palm Beach Central High School Band.     

Membership is open to anyone interested in helping with these goals although only parents and guardians have voting privileges. All other members are considered honorary and are entitled to voice participation, but may not vote or hold elected office.

Meetings are held the third Tuesday of each month at 7:00 p.m. in the band room.

Band Booster Committee Descriptions

 

Banquet Committee

ü      Plans and oversees end-of-year banquet.

ü      Planning includes theme, decorations, speaker, and food.

ü      This committee of parents and students designs and creates decorations, sets up and cleans up the banquet hall.

ü      Coordinates with the senior slide show creator on needed equipment and location in hall for the show.

 

Volunteer Coordinator -Patti Cepeda-Russell

ü      Coordinates volunteers for the many band activities as necessary.

ü      Keeps records of volunteer attendance and hours, turns in to school volunt3eer coordinator.

 

Chaperone Committee

ü      Organizes the parent chaperones needed for each band function.

ü      Calls parents prior to functions to insure at least the minimum number of chaperones.

ü      Coordinates with Equipment Committee for game, festival, and parade responsibilities.

 

Color Guard Committee

ü      Represents the Color Guard to the Band Boosters.

ü      Insures that equipment and uniforms are accounted for and properly maintained.

ü      Oversees Color Guard functions and financial accountability.

 

Ad Book and Concert Programs Committee  -  Cindy Fernandes

ü      Creates layout for ad book, fall and spring concert programs.

ü      Ensures timely printing and delivery.

ü      Handles ad requests for programs.

ü      Works with Mr. Yaques on performance notes and biography.

 

Equipment Committee

ü      Equipment Crew is responsible for reserving and picking up the trailer or rental truck and ice for games, festivals, and parades.

ü      Equipment Crew is responsible for loading and unloading equipment and instruments.
Chaperones and student Property Managers assist with this responsibility.

ü      Equipment Crew is responsible for reserving charter buses for out-of-town trips.

ü      Coordinates with Chaperone Committee for game, festival, and parade responsibilities.

  

Freshman Parent Committee –  Cindy Fernandes

ü      Serves as liaison between Band Boosters and new band members and parents.

 

Fund Raising Committee - 

ü      Organizes fund raisers.

ü      Works with student officers to coordinate workers.

ü      Oversees setting up, organizing, staffing, and collection with regard to fund raisers.

 

Hospitality Committee - Machelle Rodriguez

ü      Coordinates the receptions following each concert and special band functions.

ü      Handles cards and/or flowers, as necessary.

 

Newsletter Committee

ü      Collects and/or writes articles for the band newsletter.

ü      Creates, prints, and mails the band newsletter.

ü      Newsletters are sent out about every other month during the school year.

 

Public Relations/Publicity Committee - Miguel Fernandes

ü      Works to publicize band events such as performances, fund raisers, etc.

ü      Works to publicize band accomplishments in any and all local news sources.

ü      Liaison between Bronco Band Boosters and all local news sources (TV, radio, paper, etc.)

 

Telephone Tree Committee  -  Bruce Van Deree

ü      Establishes a telephone tree to allow timely dissemination of information to all band parents.

ü      Divides roster among committee members and passes the calling information to them.

 

Home Game Committee

Ropes off band area in stands.

Prepares water jugs and take jugs, cups, ponchos, podium to stands.

Supplies at least one person for grilling duties to the concession stand

Chaperones during game, clear way for band movement.

Help move pit equipment to stadium.

 

Uniform Committee

ü      Oversees uniform fitting and care.

ü      Heads up fitting of uniforms on Uniform Day, recording assigned uniform numbers.

ü      Coordinates the pick-up and delivery of uniforms to and from the dry-cleaners.

ü      Oversees, in conjunction with the student uniform officers, the replacement of uniforms into the proper garment bag after each dry-cleaning.
